Everyone says, “blog!”. But what does it actually mean for a business? How can you turn a simple article into a lead generation tool? Many start, then give up after a few attempts because no one reads the articles and they don’t bring results.
The problem is usually not a lack of talent, but a lack of strategy and structure. A good blog post is not made from inspiration, but based on a proven recipe. Below we present this recipe with which your articles too can create real value.
Preparation: Before You Write a Single Word
Successful cooking starts with choosing high-quality ingredients. The same is true for blogging.
-
1. Know Your Audience: Who are you writing for? A starting entrepreneur? An experienced professional? What problems are they struggling with? What questions do they ask Google? Before you start writing, imagine your ideal reader. Your article should be for them, offering a solution to their problem.
-
2. Perform Keyword Research: Keywords are the bridge between your content and the searching user. The goal is not to stuff the text with words, but to understand search intent. Use free tools and look for specific, multi-word expressions (e.g., “how to choose a good accountant”) where there is lower competition but search intent is clear.
Prescription Ingredients: Blog Post Structure
Now that you have the topic and target audience, let’s see the structure.
-
1. The Headline (H1): This is the most important sentence. It should be attention-grabbing, include the main keyword, and promise some value.
- Proven formulas: “How to do…”, “X tips with which…”, “The complete guide to…”, “Common mistakes you must avoid…”.
-
2. The Intro: The first 2-3 sentences must convince the reader that they are in the right place. Present the problem they are also struggling with, then promise that they will get a solution by the end of the article.
-
3. The Substantial Content (Body): No one likes to read a solid wall of text. Break up the content!
- Use subheadings (H2, H3) to separate logical units.
- Write short paragraphs (max. 3-4 lines).
- Use lists (bulleted or numbered) so that information is easy to scan.
- Highlight important parts with bold formatting.
-
4. Visual Elements: One or two relevant images, infographics, or videos break the monotony of the text and help in processing the information. Always provide
alttext for images for SEO!
Seasoning: SEO Fine-tuning
- Keyword Placement: The main keyword should appear in the headline, in the intro, in at least one subheading, and of course in the text, but always naturally, without forcing it.
- Internal Links: If you mention a topic in the article that you’ve written about before (or that is a service of yours), link to it! This helps the visitor in navigation and Google in crawling your site.
Serving: The Closing
End your article with a short summary that reinforces the most important message. Last but not least, place a clear Call to Action (CTA). What should the reader do now? Contact you? Download something?
A well-structured blog post not only informs but builds trust and brings customers. With this recipe, you too will be able to create such content.
